My Personal Testimony
I was one of those people who almost missed heaven by 15 inches. That’s about the distance from my head to my heart. And it’s the difference between believing about Jesus Christ and believing in Jesus Christ. You see, I thought I had to know all about (facts) Jesus before He would come into my life. I’m reminded of Acts 16:31, “Believe on (faith) the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved”.
Growing up my mother was a Christian, but my father was not. I was a good girl. I obeyed my parents. I went to Sunday school and church. I was searching for something missing within me. I didn’t know it at the time, but I was searching for Jesus Christ.
When I was 15 there was another church visiting me and praying for my salvation every week. On one of those visits I lied to the group and said that I had asked Jesus into my heart not to worry about me anymore. I lost my voice after that huge lie. The very next day (Sunday), at the end of the sermon I invited Jesus into my heart and life.
I strive to be a godly person. I serve the Lord through my classroom and in my church by working with the deaf ministry, prayer ministry, special needs children, VBS, Women Encouraging Women (WEW), and teaching three, four, and five year olds in Mission Friends.
I felt God calling me to be a teacher in the ninth grade. The classroom is my ministry. I feel it is my calling to help prepare the next generation to take their place as godly influences in society.
